You're listening to The Voice of Your Brand podcast.

In today's episode, we will be talking about how you can use the universal laws of attraction and vibration to amplify your voice and the message that's coming up next, ready to go behind the scenes and learn what it really takes to stand out as the voice of your brand. I'm Katherine Beck, voice actor, and voice coach. And after 20 years of being the voice of other brands. I'm here to show you how your voice is your most powerful tool to creating the impact, influence and income you desire. The world is your global stage. So get ready to uplevel your voice and your personal brand. This isThe Voice of Your Brand podcast. We will get started with today's episode in just a moment.

But first, I want to introduce you to my brand new podcasting microphone. That's right, I got a new microphone. And I would love to know how it sounds to you. So far, so good. On my end, I'm loving it. I'm loving the very professional-looking podcast setup that I have now. You know, it's funny how it's like I've been podcasting for a few years now. And I always speak about having a great quality microphone. But in the past, I've used microphones that weren't traditionally podcasting microphone, and I thought all right Enough is enough. I'm going to invest in an actual podcasting microphone. So I decided on the Heil, I wanted something that looked really nice and sounded really great. I did my research. I wanted something that I thought would work really good with my voice. And I ended up with the Heil. Now the reason I like it is because it's all one colour. It's the champagne colour. And this was very hard to find, let me tell you, I think they're discontinuing and they're going more of like the black route, which is fine, but I wanted the silver look. So the podcasting, I forget what they call it, it's like a little nest for the microphone is the same colour as is the pop filter. And let me tell you that was super hard to find. It's very small, and it goes over right in front of the microphone and I just loved the look of it.

So I wanted something that was sharp, sleek, sounded professional, and this is what I ended up with. Now I still have to work out the setup because a boom arm is like literally above my head and behind me. So I still have to work out the setup. And I do want to create like a little bit of a sort of podcasting environment five background behind me, so there's still more to come. But what do you think of the microphone? How is it sounding? Let me know drop me a DM in Instagram DMS at Catherine underscore Beck underscore and let me know. And hey, while you're at it. If you love this episode, please do me a favour. It's been a while since I've really requested and asked for reviews. But if you listen and you are loving these episodes, I put a lot of thought into them. And I would love to hear back from you. So do me a favour, head over to Apple podcasts or leave just a very brief review and let me know what you think of the show. It helps me as a podcaster. But it also helps this podcast get out to a much bigger audience. So if you're loving this podcast, go ahead and leave us a review. Okay, so last week, I took the week off from podcasting, actually because I was running a masterclass for my signature programme launch your voice. And if you missed the masterclass no fear, no worries, because I'm going to be running a more informal version of the masterclass over on zoom this week. And the topic is going to be on how to get your audience to know like and trust you within the first six seconds of hearing you speak. So if you're interested, drop me a DM over on Instagram @Katherine_ Beck_ with the number six. That's all you have to leave and I'll know it's you from the podcast.
And I'll send you over the Zoom link for the training.

But the reason I bring this up is because there was so much prep work leading up into the masterclass there was a lot of reworking of my messaging. And as you know, if you're in any kind of launch, if you've done a launch, there's lots of moving pieces, lots of steps, things to do things to think about. And if you know anything about human design, well, I am a projector and as a projector, we need rest and I noticed myself doing too much getting over works and feeling that bit of Have you no exhaustion. And while I used to batch record my podcasts, and let me tell ya, I'm going back to batch recording my podcast episodes, I realised that last week, I just, I did not have an in me to record an episode. And for me, while I love the consistency of doing a weekly podcast, it is way more important for me to have the energy to give you a great piece of content instead of just throwing something together to make a deadline. And so I decided to take the week off. And the episode I was going to do last week I am doing so here today, I thought I would share this with you because maybe you can relate to you know that pressure and consistency of creating content, or continuing to make your presence known on all the social media channels and you know, delivering value to your audience week in week out. Well, it's all important. But when it comes to, I guess, being in a place of scarcity, and urgency yourself, I have noticed and maybe you have too, that it's hard to make content. And it is hard to stand out when you're coming from a place of scarcity and urgency. And let's not forget, there's so much content online. So what's going to make somebody stop the scroll and listen to you or watch your content. So we've got to be in tune. With those moments when our body says it's time to pause, we got to be okay to let ourselves rest. Be okay with those moments when you may need to get silent and pause and let the answer come to you or that next step come to you. So that's what I did. And I feel so much better for it. I feel rejuvenated, and the content was a flow one, let me tell you, and I batch recorded a whole bunch. And I'm feeling good. So let's jump into today's episode because this is a really juicy one. And it's been something that's kind of been in the background of my mind for a while now. But I wasn't quite sure how to articulate it or communicate it via the vehicle of voice. But here we go. So the universal laws and how they pertain to using your voice to amplify your message and your impact, we are going to be looking at also a very crucial principle that must also exist for you to be able to amplify your message and impact as well. And that is authority. But now, if you're noticing. So let's start with this. Let's start with a check in. If you are noticing that you're putting out content, and it's not getting the comments, it's not getting the shares, no one is slipping into your DMS no one's asking you how they can work with you. Or you feel like you're holding back from showing up on camera. Or you notice that you feel more confident creating image based content. So that would include like a static post image or a carousel post where you've got like a series of slides with words on it. But we don't hear your voice, we don't see you. We don't have that next step in connecting with you. Or if you ever feel kind of awkward talking to camera. So for example, when you're creating video content, like a real and you're speaking to a piece of technology, like a phone, or a video camera, or a microphone, and no one is actually there with you in the room. But you're meant to sound and appear as if you're talking to someone and you find that awkward. Raise your hand. If any of those things resonate with you, then chances are, you're likely following some sort of cookie cutter content strategy that a social media expert or experts, or even a messaging expert told you to say and do and you're playing it safe. You're playing the safe route, because it's easier to hide behind things. Then show up and be present as yourself. You are relying on image content to do the talking for you. Your audience has not or rarely ever hears you speak. Or when you do show up on camera. You're speaking with fake authority, fake authenticity.

You sound professional, but you don't sound like yourself. Right, there's this like, weird way that you sound when you show up to an interview, or you show up in front of a camera, and you're like, Hi, my name is Katherine Beck. And I'm a voice coach. That's not real, right? Like, if I were to speak like that all the time, you'd be like, Who is this chick? Who is this woman. But what people really want is they want to get to know the real you. They don't need a facade. They don't need to hear, you know, what you think you should sound like in order to be perceived as professional people want to work. And I want to get to know the real person, the real person who is the expert, not the person pretending to be a professional expert. Does that make sense? So if this resonates with you on any of those things that we talked about, then Houston, we got a problem, a problem that we got to fix. And this is why you are struggling to grow your audience and grow your sales. This is because you're not standing out, people are not taking notice of you, they are not attracted to you, they don't want to wait around and hear what you have to say. Because they don't see you as the person to solve their problem. They don't see you as the authority. So if you don't sound like the authority that you are, then we gotta fix it. The principle of authority is a very, very important principle of influence and in selling. And this is what your audience needs in order to trust you, as the authority if we do not believe you to be an authority. That's both in how you speak. It's what you say. And it's how you communicate visually, as well, we will not buy from you. Remember, there's three aspects of communication in order to effectively communicate to your audience that you are the authority, it is in the words that you speak, it is how you say those words in your voice, your nonverbal, and it is your visual how you present yourself as the authority, everything is giving off cues and clues as to whether or not we believe you to be an authority. So you may already have the skills, or the talent, or the knowledge, the expertise. But if your voice and your physicality does not match your authority, we do not believe you. We are not fooled. And so let me give you an example. Here's one way we can easily lose our authority and how subconsciously the listener loses trust in you. It's called Upward inflections, or some of you may have heard the term up talk, I call it upward inflections. And basically what that is, is when you get to the end of a thought, or a statement, the statement now sounds like a question. Here's an example, if I were to say to you, the doors of my programme, are open. And if you're interested, I can give you the link. So I did four upward inflections there. So what that cues in to the listener is doubt, hesitancy and uncertainty every time we upward and flex like that. Now let's try it a different way. The doors are opening to my programme, and when you enrol in Launch Your voice, I will show you exactly how to get your audience to know like and trust you within the first six seconds of hearing your voice. Okay, so I did a few different things there. But essentially, the thing I want you to listen out for is I was removing those upward inflection. So there was more certainty there was more direct boldness, more authority in my voice. And that was the opposite. That was the downward inflections that I was using. Could you hear the difference? There was another sort of subtle thing I did there in terms of authority. Where is I took the weak language that was in that first example. And I strengthened the language as well. That's another sort of thing you can play around with is the actual words that you use to lead the listener lead the viewer to where they're headed. Because if we start to use weaker language, like if maybe think, then it's not strong enough, the person may decide it's not the right time to buy or invest with you. And then they move on to the next thing. So we want to shift our, our language from weak to strong as well. Okay, now, people follow and want to work with people who they deem credible and knowledgeable experts, right. So you need to be able to own your expertise. Because if people do not believe you to be the authority, they will not trust you, and therefore, they will not buy from you. So that is why it really requires a level of skill to sell your stuff. And that means sounding confident when you speak. If you are not confident or hesitant in any way, we will hear it in your voice. And subconsciously, you're telling us that you are not the authority. So what that means is you need to stake your claim, own your experience and sell your irresistible offer by sounding like the authority that you are. So as an exercise, I want you to say out loud who you are, what you do, and then record and listen back. And let us know. And let me know. Do you sound confident?

Do you sound like the go to authority in your field? If not, then we got some work to do. Because how can you expect to be the next change maker in your industry, if you do not have the confidence within you to step up and speak up about who you are and what you do? Next, let's talk about the two very important laws that pertain to amplifying your voice and your message. And those are the law of attraction and by Bration. And chances are this may be why you're noticing it's getting harder and harder to grow your audience and grow your business. I'm going to tell you that what I'm sharing with you is very simple in this episode, but the sad truth is, is that most entrepreneurs won't listen or simply won't implement what I'm sharing because it's far more safer to stick to the strategy and blame strategy and jump to a new strategy when something doesn't work than it is to work on you. Because let's face it when we work on your voice, we are working on you. Yes, it is personal development. Yes, we are taking a good hard look at yourself. We are taking a look at how you're speaking and how you're selling. And just like the Taylor Swift song, you might hear yourself saying it's me. Hi, I'm the problem. It's me. So let's talk about how we can swiftly get that swiftly shift that we're going to shift it first in the vibrations, the vibrations in your voice. The law of vibration states that everything in the universe is in a constant state of movement. Everything is energy, everything is vibrating and it is vibrating at a certain frequency. That is our thoughts, our feelings, our words, our voice is all energy that is vibrating and being transmitted out into the universe. Every time you speak. Your emotional states dictate the vibration that your body is in these vibrations set up resonance with anything that is on the same frequency. That means you can either attract someone to want to listen to you to be on the same wavelength. As you the same frequency your your frequency or vibration is a match. But if it is not, let's say you're letting your nerves get the best of you you're afraid or doubtful, or, you know insecure about what you're going to talk about you get in your head, you have now shifted your vibration, which means you may inadvertently repel people away because you're no longer match. People are seeking a connection. And in that connection, they are seeking a vibrational match. Now more than ever, in this digital age, people are going online and seeking you out they're craving a connection. They're craving a disconnect from the real world with a connection over on the digital world. And that is where the law of attraction comes into play. Attraction is a force that is mutual between particles of matter that draws them together. The Law of Attraction can't be applied without also understanding the law of vibration. Because the two laws are connected. That's because vibration is what causes attraction. The Law of Attraction works by the totality of the vibration we send out not merely by what we say we want. So by now you know why You may not be attracting or even worse, repelling people away from you from your content, while your content is getting lost in the sea of online noise, why people may not believe and trust you as the authority. So how do we fix this? It starts with getting your voice to match your brand. It starts with getting your voice to match your messaging, uncovering your true voice, the voice that is authentic, that is powerful, that is attractive, that is authoritative and will resonate with your audience. That is what we do inside of lunch your voice. If you are curious to know how your audience receives your voice. This is what I want you to do.
